"A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much."

“One last party, then it’s over.” Buddy lined up the gear on the table and emptied his drink.

“The shit will kill you.” Jones lit a cigarette and took a small sip from his beer.

“It’s the last time.” He lit the candle and prepared the spoon.

Jones leaned back and watched Buddy push the junk into his vein.

“I love you baby. I’ll never let you down. Never.” Euphoria spread on Buddy’s face.

“I love you too.” He hugged and kissed Buddy.

“Together forever.”

“Until death does us apart.” Jones studied his lovers face as the euphoria faded into pale fear.

“Damn! Dirty hit!” Buddy’s eyes filled with panic. ”You have to help me!”

“The last hit.” He moved away. “You’ve become a liability.”

“Baby..., please.”

“Haven’t we always known it would end this way?”

“What the hell –“

Jones started to clean the hut whiles his lover took his last breaths. Buddy rented in his own name, and no one had seen Jones enter. He would be long gone by the time someone found Buddy, and the Thai police would think that he had overdoses.

“It’s your own fault,” he told the corpse. “The drugs make you talk too much. And, you’re the only one who knows my secret.”

It had seemed as a good idea at the time, bringing Buddy to Thailand to help him recover from the surgeries. He had not counted on Buddy’s addiction and the problems it would cause him. Every trace of his visit was gone, and it was time to leave.

He glanced over his shoulder as he opened the door, “Bye love.”

A false passport and a new identity waited for him. A new life where no one knew and no one would find out.
